MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Jared Walsh hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning, leading the Mobile BayBears to a 6-4 win over the Mississippi Braves on Tuesday.

Mississippi had a runner on first in the top of the ninth, but Sal Giardina struck out to end the game.

The home run by Walsh scored Zach Houchins and Wade Wass and was the game’s last scoring play.

Adam Hofacket (1-2) got the win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Bradley Roney (4-1) took the loss in the Southern League game.

For the Braves, Giardina homered and doubled, scoring two runs.
